I couldn't sleep this morning so I went up to the Snip and arrived there about daybreak. I was greeted by the honking of Canada geese and the shrill call of some loons, what a great chorus to start the day.
I started out throwing a black whopper plopper and walked the rock strewn shoreline covering water. I had 2 half-hearted strikes but did not connect on either fish. Thinking that the color was the problem I switched to a more natural color, but never elicited another strike. After about an hour I jumped in the truck and drove around to the other side of the lake.

I worked another rocky shoreline for quite a ways to a main lake point. I didn't get any strikes on top so I switched to a green pumpkin swimbait on a 3/8 oz. head and begin working the outside weedline from 20 ft to where it met the rocky bottom. I ended up catching 3 largemouth doing this including 1 decent one before I had lost enough baits to the boulders.
Not hot and heavy action but I'll take it.
