So was all ready to have a great day on Candlewood yesterday. Deploy the trolling motor to try a spot and noticed it was way to windy so went to move and pulled up on the motor and it wouldn't release. I noticed the pin with the release rope/cable tied to it had a ton of play. After much maneuvering and attempts to get it on the trailer with the motor down I got it home. Puled the diagram on line and it looks like there is a spring at the opposite end of where the pin is but it is enclosed. I got the top metal cover off but then there is the metal plate covering everything, including the rod with the cable tied to it back to the spring, all covered. Tried to get the pin out in the front as it looks like that would do it, nope.

So I am stumped. Can't believe it is so tough to get to it. Any suggestions? I am in New Milford and would pay someone to come fix it, this is my time to fish on Candlewood!!!!

Here is a pic of just the pin that now has play in it.
