I don’t know where the disrespect for the DEP is here??? I see more support than anything actually. There might be a couple of knuckleheads but not even enough to notice, unless you’re really looking for them. It may be possible that you’re more susceptible to these people and innuendos (reading between the lines) as this will be your field. That makes perfect sense to me. I probably would feel the same way.

From a distance however, I see the majority understanding a very tough field along with a level of appreciation for what they do. I guess I can only speak for myself in the end but that’s my take.

As far as CT goes it’s pretty simple, most people (not everyone) stay connected with their roots. Family history is powerful and keeps most living in the region that they were born. Interesting questioning considering your moving or thinking about moving. I can’t imagine that politics in CT vary much than any other state and for those who complain I turn a deaf ear. You will find them if you move to Antarctica. I personally like CT w/ the exception of ICE and COLD. You learn to deal w/ it.

As far as quick-tempered and or easily incensed people go I may have thought that about you at one point early on but didn’t actually know you and have little invested in first impressions ;\) .

Most are caught up in their own $hit. Sometimes you think you see and a$$hole but really all it is someone that is in too much of a hurry to see anything. Sometimes they are simply a$$holes. There everywhere, not just here. It’s what you know and what you get used too.

I do have concerns about CT in particular overpopulation / overcrowding. Now that these two casinos are competing daily for whose got a bigger !@#k it is crazy. Some small towns are deteriorating and traffic and transportation is crazy. Higher costs and inflation will eventually unfold in increased crime.

Casinos pay is not great (entry level). Now that many of the people that were brought in from overseas and many locals are getting the axe as electronic engineering is taking over their jobs. Add in taxes and discrimination and you have the main equation for what was mass immigration.

Besides a very big family all of my work contracts lie w/ the state of CT. Maybe when my kids grow up I’ll bail. Who knows but overall I think CT has a lot of great history and is a nice place to raise a family. If you want to discuss taxes with me you better bring a bottle of tequila \:D . Peace bro

It is the mark of an intelligent mind to be able to entertain an idea without necessarily accepting it.
