i cant believe i have never chimed in on this thread. but i have to post. i learned my first Megadeath song for kicks last week. a student REALLY wanted to learn Peace Sells.
Last thing I knew was what I read on the Liege Lord website (which is currently down). This was from an interview with guitarist, Paul Nelson. I believe the interview was conducted in 2000.

What ever happened to Liege Lord singer Andy Michaud who sang on Freedom's Rise and Burn To My Touch?
I spoke with him recently. He's living in the Carolinas and is doing fine. He is fully aware of Liege Lord's resurgence of popularity and is very happy about it! Maybe we can get him to sing a few shows!
FWIW, I happen to miss the good ole' southern boys boys who preffered moonshine, fistfights and women... of course.
Blackfoot, Molly Hatchett and even some Skynyrd songs border on a very hard rock sound at times. Some even considered Blackfoot as Heavy Metal, although I always heard the blues come through in the end.
Hey just as much as I like me some good metal, I like me some good ole southern rock too. Nothing like sitting back w/ a cold adult beverage and a lil Skynard blasting some tunes. Southern Rock makes good road trip music.

Just found this thread and read a bit of it. I would rather be forced to catch Sea Robins and 12 inch sand sharks the rest of my life, then ever have to hear another Skynrd song. I actually ended up at a Skynrd concert way back when, because Tesla opened for them and I had to leave at minute 24 of the Freebird encore. I couldnt take it any more. I also suspect if I had brought a bluefish into the concert, the tooth count at the venue would have doubled. Yea, I'm hating.....but it is a metal thread.
