Besides Steelhead in the winter/spring and Salmon in the fall, how does the river fish from lets say May-September ? Smallies, trout, walleye ?
May : still some steelhead and browns around.
June: Skamania(summer run steelhead) can be caught wet wading,Smallies show up in the lower river.
July,August Smallies in the lower river.
September the salmon start showing up.
The mouth of the river or estuary is a year round fishery best fished from a boat that you can catch a mixed bag of bass,pike walleye,salmon,browns,bowfin and some other fish I am sure.
The upper river also has trout year round.
