Up for sale is a Daiwa Saltist LD 30 2 speed. I bought it for a customer and we didn't realize how tiny it is; he wants the 50 now! It is currently spooled with ~225 yds of 80# Sufix braid (what the customer wanted) and I have only used it on a couple rods to tweak the guide placement; hasn't seen water or fishing yet! $250 OTD w/o line, or I will spool it up for you with braid (sufix or powerpro, your choice line rating) for an extra $25. I will try to get some pics up tomorrow. While playing with the reel, it is pretty smooth and powerful for such a tiny reel; it's about the same size as an Abu Garcia Ambassaduer 6500, but in 2 speed and with much more drag available. It will make a great inshore reel for stripers, bluefish, etc! Overall, the reel is almost identical in basic size to an Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 6500!

Cod and bass/blues. He saw the colors, which match the rod I am building for him, and 300yds of 20# mono, which should be around 300 yds of 80# braid (equivalent to 20# mono, I don't use a backer and spool it TIGHT). I got a little over 200 yds of 80# Sufix on there. He went Cod Fishing last weekend and used a small penn reel and hated the smaller reel; he wants the 50LD 2 speed now instead. The 30LD has the same rate of retrieve, 36", as my Saltiga 40, and just about the same as the Fin Nor Offshore 16L, but the small reel concerns him. It's the size of an Abu 6500 Ambassadeur, which is pretty small. Will it work for cod? Sure. But he wants something larger. He is a pretty big guy, bigger than me!
