most deer can jump over 6' standing still. 4' won't cut it.electrified barbed wire over 7' and they still get in. good luck. shot gun?

hey paul how is it going? I have used 4-foot wire for a few years now and it works for what i need. I raise it 10-12 inches off the ground to bring it to 5 feet or so. And atleast 60% of the deer (young & most doe) stay out. I don't mind a good handful gettin in, it keeps them around tight for season. But yes 7-8 foot is "much" better. I am around guilford just about everyday, if you still need some netting, I have what you are looking for and its free for ya. Its white about 12' by 12' ,streches, small 1 inch holes and brand new. let me know, take care

Blood trail can't pm, yet. Squeeze the trigger and sign up !
I was thinking about getting 1000's of yards of mono, but I don't think that would do it.
I'm very interested in the netting ! Let me know how to contact you.

Bloodtrail, I have 2 used rolls of 4' chain link, 2 used rolls of ~8' chain link, and some misc. other wire. We are trying to clean up the place, this stuff needs to go, you can have it. Also a couple of kennel sections. Just come and take them. I'm located in Colchester/East Haddam.

I did see a trick where some guys put bright yellow cord or poly twine spaced 12 inches apart in 4 concentric rings at 1,2 and 3 feet high, 3 feet away from, surrounding their plot to keep the deer out. They said it "worked" the deer wouldn't step through it or crawl under because they would get tangled. To cross it they would have to run and then jump across the barrier 3 feet wide at 3 feet tall. They said the deer are lazy and had other food sources.

When you're a paid member and able to PM, send me one if you still want the wire. The first person who comes gets the wire as we just want it gone.
