Tall 1 Member Registered: 05/02/03 Posts: 10503	I'm just throwing this out there in case some people might be willing to donation some time for kids and the future of fishing. This Saturday, June 18th, Cabelas in East Hartford is holding a kids fishing event with a stocked trout pool. (No not in the aquarium! ) It will officially run from 11am-1pm and there will be breakfast available before the event, face painting and free rods for the first 25 kids and hats for the adults, plus prizes for everyone that catches a fish. I'll be there by 10:00 to lend a hand so if you can make it come see me at Cabelas! Cabelas has offered to donate rod/reel combos for our CTF kids event in August so I believe in one good deed deserving another- please stop by and lend a hand if you can. Thanks! Beautiful weather, smiling children, proud parents and fish slimed hands for the first time ever- here comes the next generation of fishermen. A HUGE thank you to MermaidCT,(Kim), and to Greg S for all of their help, you guys ROCK!! Also, thanks to George and Justin from the DEP CARE program for spreading the word, thanks to them, a great CARE instructor named John Carr also was there all day. Here's a few pictures from the event: Some dads and kids with their free Zebco 202 rod and reel combos Some of the rainbows- tagged fish won a special prize The kids with their first fish Greg S lending a hand MermaidCT waiting to unhook a fish or rebait someone's hook CARE instructor John with a happy kid Anticipation....
