Made a call and rounded up 2 guys for a quick run. I had already picked up a very nice speck while working today and he thought I released him. At the end of the day he was swimming happily in my live well.

The goal was to make the 20 mile run offshore and pick up 6 nice snapper in the 10 pound range. There were some nasty storms in the area but we managed to dodge them. The seas were flat calm in our area.

We stopped at the targeted rig and it was fish on. Due to the size of the fish they were finding a way back into the rig and breaking off or just ripping out the hook with the power they have. We landed 10 fish all respectable. We kept the 6 largest, with the smallest being 8+ pounds, and Bobby found 2 nice lane snapper to add to the bounty. We had hoped to stop by a mangrove, lane, and white trout rig on the way in but the skys and my XM weather prompted me to head for the barn.

Buddy took his fish and Bobby and I cleaned ours at my house. A nice way to start the 4th.

Life is Good!

Fishing is not a matter of life or death. It's more important than that.
