Last year I bought a Mossberg 930 with a cantilever barrel. All-in-all a good gun. Wasn't too expensive.

I used to have one. I swear it was a tack driver at 100. But swore I would never buy another mossberg.

Why not get a slug barrel for a shotgun you already own?

I bought the Savage 20 ga. last year and love it. Beleive they make it in 12 as well. It is a bolt action and deadly accurate, if you don't mind a bolt action gun. Of course you don't have the option of changing barrells like a pump or semi but I wanted a gun just for deer. Topped it off with low mounts, and a Nikon 2x7 scope. I have the 870 as well and it is a good shooter but with those interchangable barrells I find that I have to stretch my neck up to look through the scope. Not so with the bolt action. Its more like a rifle that shoots slugs.

The Savage bolt action slug guns are extremely accurate with a scope on them. I have the 12 guage. If I was buying a new one I would get the 20 guage now, in fact I may switch this year.

Major all I have is a 10ga. Best of knoledge you cant deer hunt with a 10 ga. My bps 3.5 they didnt make or cant find a slug barrel for that. Needless to say I am in the market for a gun. I have a slug barrel for a mossberg 9200 that was stollen from me in fedex shipment to eagle pass texas.

Badger Barrels in WI (badgerbarrelsinc.com) makes a slug barrel for the BPS.
I had them make a canterlever slug barrel for my SuperNova a couple years back, check them out.
