Anybody track/trend the last few years the arrival of the small blue fish in the sound, Norwalk area in the spring. (May/June)

Ed is correct, beginning of May arrival. If the weather is calm you can see them on top and pop them up before they spawn mid-month. They are frustrating when they spawn, they're visible but frequently not eating at that time.

check west haven sandbar for the first of the small choppers. end of april early may. remember the weakfish? you may hear of a guy who saw a guy who had a weakfish on his line for a split second, as a bonus.

I found a way to get them to bite during the spawn Mark.....no joke...

Troll an umbrella rig (small tubes) with MONO......just make small/short circles with the boat around the finning activity.....
I found this works (back when I fished for these damm things)
