I miss CT sooo much. The ecenomy is great, taxes are low, cost of living is low, there is plenty of good jobs available and great potential for career growth. Plus, I love the liberal politics and there is a lot of hot chicks that are friendly.
The things I don't miss about CT - the Striper fishing sucked. Fishing options are super slim, I hated the ocean and the rivers, plus they were few and far between. The seafood and Italian food sucked, I would rather have re-heated leftover McDonald's. And, there is too many damn seasons.

With the current gun control going on in our state legislator I want to move but unfortunately have some ties here that would make it tough but not undoable. Just waiting for the dust to settle mean while I'm trying to figure out where to go that would give me employment, a friendly outdoorsman's life style and a non liberal environment.

Louisiana!
Fishing is not a matter of life or death. It's more important than that.
This state is a piece of #*&!. I work for the state currently so that's one reason I live here. This governor is going to destroy the state so I don't know how much longer ill continue to bend over in this state. It offers you nothing if you are middle class. Now if you are scumb living off of social programs, this is the place for you! I for one, have almost had it here and I think in going north in the next few years.
I love Jeremiah's post. I do miss the italian food. I do miss family and friends, but most of what I miss are not even in CT. I miss Quabbin, Champlain, Maine, and Fenway! Now living in Grenville, SC at the base of the Blue Ridge. Moved here last May and even though I have spent since July fighting esophageal cancer, I see how much better it is for us here than in CT. The medical care here has been phenomenal. The doctors, nurses, facilities, and everyone connected with the care have been tremendous. Neighbors and new friends have been so kind and helpful. I am now doing well and hoping to be near my new "normal" this spring so I can get out and explore all the fantastic fishing opportunities in this area. Greenville is a beautiful town and is on the rise. Much more affordable here than CT - great place to retire. Just what we save on property tax alone will buy me a nice boat. Can't wait to get on the Broad River and bang some big smallies!
