1. Catch & Release All pike caught during Piketoberfest must be released immediately after taking any photos. A live or dead pike brought to the picnic will not be eligible for a prize, and you will be humiliated. Any legal method of catching pike in Ct. is allowed, bait, or artificial.
2. Fishing Location You can fish from boat or shore on the CT River in Ct only. You can launch from any location on the CT River. The only requirement is to be back at Haddam Meadows at 2pm.
3. $5 Donation A $5 Donation is reccomended to participate. Please see Tournament director P. Dona and others before entering the picnic at 2pm to log fish and collect the donations. From the donations collected, those who paid for trophies and other event related prizes will be reimbursed. After they are paid out, the remaining money will be saved and used for next year's CTF Kid's Day event.
4. Fish Verification for Prizing In order to qualify for a prize, you MUST:
a. Be a ctfisherman.com paid subscriber registered before 11/01/14 with at least 10 posts.
AND
b: Have in your digital camera a clear photo of your Pike caught today next to a tape measure verifying its length. You will need to bring your camera to the picnic to have the picture verified by a tournament committee member. Questionable photos will be viewed by all committee members and possibly all CTF members for varificaton. A second picture of you and your pike is suggested, also.
5. Measuring Your Fish Please measure your fish using 1/4-inch increments. For example, a fish could measure 38, 38-1/4, 38-1/2 or 38-3/4. Increments beyond 1/4-inch will not count. Any questionable lengths will be subject to an inspection.
6. Prizing Trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Fish length will determine prizing. Fish weight does not count.
7. Fish Check-in You must log-in your fish length at 2pm to be eligible for a prize. If you have to leave early and do not log-in, or show up after 2pm, you are not eligible for a prize. Please proceed to the check-in area before entering the picnic..
8. Tiebreaker System In the event of a tie with a top 3 level fish, we will use the total length of all the pike you and partner/s caught divided by # of partners.
Bring your pike rod for the casting contest double tie-breaker! If there is still a tie, we will use a double-tie breaker casting contest. Rules for the casting contest to be determined at the picnic.
9. Record All of Your Fish Please keep track of the number and length of all of your pike caught -- not only for the tie breaker, but for assisting in reporting to the DEEP.
10. All Decisions Final In the event of any controversy or questions for prizing, a decision will be made by P. Dona, tournament committee members, and CTF publisher Mitch P.
