So this is actually a river report and Bass report so I figured they were both fresh water and here it is.
Started off doing a shakedown run on the Striper Active II. The engine is having some small issues at low and idle speeds so I am glad I took it out on a not so great river day. We launched out of Haddam at 8:30am. Water was very muddy and we were dodging logs. Andrew and I hit a bunch of our Striper spots without a hit. We tried our last sot and luckily found a few Pike. We each caught one close to 30", I had one at the boat around 36" and a Gator that Andrew thinks was around 40". All caught on 9" Pearl Houdini Shad. We also missed a few more. So a nice trip on the river with no Bass but some Pike.
Part2: Csimone and I hit the lake at around 4pm. He picked me up at my dock on his bass boat. We hit some spots with a real ugly storm moving in. I caught 4 nice smallies and Chis hit arounfd the same. It was nice being on the boat and was great practice for me for the tourney next week. It was my only my 2nd time fishing from a "Bass Boat" and Chris knows his stuff. I know the lake like the back of my hand but Chris knows every knook and cranny for bass fishing, plus we always have a blast. We had to cut the trip short becuase of the rain but a very productive 1.5 hours. My biggest was over 4 pounds. All caught in 2-12 feet on green plastic grubs.
Here are a few pics:
So a long and good day fishing!
