Please reply on this thread if you plan to attend, along with kids names and ages. Schedule Fishing from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with pizza party and awards to follow.
Entree Fee FREE!
All CTF members, and guests are welcome. Every kid will win something. FAMILIES are encouraged to come out and fish with us! RULES * Please sign up with a KID'S DAY COMMITTEE MEMBER first thing in the am. We need your name, and age group you will be in.
We have three age groups: 1. Under 7 years old 2. 8-11 years old 3. 12-15 years old
* All kids fishing will receive prizes
* Be there early so we can all start on time
* Each kid will only bring their 1 largest weight fish of any species to the scale. Pictures can be taken of the rest and then released.
* No culling dead fish
* ALL adults and kids must wear their life jackets while the boat is moving with the large engine. We want to set a good example.
* Anything goes for catching fish. There are no rules against any legal method of getting fish on the boat.
We'll be doing post-fishing pizza like usual, but if anyone wants to bring additional snacks, drinks, treats, etc., please do so and post here. Thank you!
Would it be useful to offer my 14' Starcraft and all required fishing gear to a parent and child for this event? I do not have anyone in mind but could volunteer my boat and my time. I basically would be focusing on panfish and such. Please note I haven't boat fished Gardner in 52 years but have ice fished it extensively until 38 years ago.
Tony.. Thanks ! let me know if you need me to come pick up the baits. Cat in the hat .... Thanks so much for volunteering your boat ... Mitch or myself will let you know.

Mitch & All Kid's Day Organizers,
Please let me know what you would like for this event: -Tony Mel's very generous offer of the above assorted soft plastics for hand outs to the Kids
OR
-My $60 dollar cash donation towards this event...from Tony Mel's very generous donation of assorted soft plastics
YOUR CHOICE.....just let me know which option works the best for the kids and this Kid's Day event.
I apologize, when I saw Tony Mel's classified ad I breezed through it very quickly and offered to buy it for the $60 donation to Kid's Day. I didn't read the part where he also offered as an option to donate all that gear for hand outs to the kids.

Can't wait for my little future fishermen to be old enough to participate in this event. It's a great thing you guys do for the kids! Good luck with everything and we'll be there in about two years or so...

Come on - how young could he be? The fish don't care how old the kids are - if he can hold a pole bring him over!

16 months and other little monster is due July 7th.
Definitely. If you've never been to this event, it's a great time. The post-fishing picnic includes some great pizza, and every kid leaves with some goodies.
Can't wait to get out there. Have to see if my little man is ready for a real tournament . . . he may have to be a substitute for my normal partner on the river next week.
LargeFry has the soft plastics to be handed out to all the kids tomorrow!
Thanks to CTF's Tony Mel for his generous donation to the CTF Kids, CTF's TheFishMan/Rich for picking up the soft plastics up in Hartford area for me, CTF's P Dona getting me LargeFry's cell#, and to CTF's LargeFry/AJ for meeting me tonight in Deep River so he can bring them to the CTF Kids Day event tomorrow organized by CTF's Mitch & Crew!
The rain stayed away, a bunch of fish were brought to the scales, we enjoyed some great post-fishing pizza and all of the kids walked away with a ton of great gear & goodies! Thanks to everyone who helped make it a great day, and for everyone who came out.
