Getting my partner back in the swing of things on our favorite quiet NW corner hole. Little jack males were on nests but I didn't see any fry. This was the only bass on the night, the lake was really stingy for once. This, a slime dart & a crappie were all we got. A young eggy female. She came from the deeper water outside the weed edge, we definitely didn't pull her from any of the nesting areas.

LOL - from Kent???? No thanks. We were just getting him used to casting on his own and being in the small boat. Hoping to have the 16' finished in time but it's looking like that's not going to happen. Weather never seems to cooperate on the weekends that I'm around.

Got another round in over the holiday weekend, he managed this one on a texas rig all by himself (casting, hooking & fighting) - all I had to do was lip it boat side. 1st fish on his new rod that we built - I was so excited to make sure he didn't lose it along the boat I stepped on a tackle tray & crushed it as I tried to crank in my own line and get back to him.

He really stuck it to me last night. Went out to try & make sure the recently repaired outboard and trolling motor were in working order - which of course meant there would be some fishing. He boated 2 quality bass to my 0. Things were much more active this time out than they were last time.
