We were off to a great start this ice-fishing season, with ice-fishing kicking off in December. However, this weekend's rain and the upcoming forecast do not look good.

Is this season done?
I think we have one more day to fish in CT on Sunday. Will need the planks but...

THE REST OF THIS WEEK LOOKS ABOVE NORMAL,EXCEPT FOR SATURDAY. AND NEXT WEEK IS WARMER THEN THIS WEEK, WITH A DAY MAYBE HITTING 60 DEGREES. I'M NOT A ICE EXPERT, SO I'M AM DONE.
Black rock had about 13” yesterday pretty much all black ice. Smaller lakes and ponds should be good for another week at least as long as it doesn’t rain hard
a few perch and slimedarts aint worth a swim!ice may still be 8-10 " but when it starts candleing 10 inches is bad.remember ice rots verticaly too not just horizontal.
Ice fishing may be over in CT but I was in Swanton, VT last Saturday morning (unfortunately not fishing) and took this picture of ice fishing sight you would not see in CT. That's Lake Champlain shore just past the flagpole and those are campers and trucks on the ice in the distance. Could see shelters and shantys all the way across to Canadian shore.

I live next to the extreme south end of Lillinonah. With the rise and fall of the lake this week, the edges have broken up and it is done as far as this area is concerned. The small ponds in the area are also done. Putting everything away tonight while drowning ice fishing sorrows in a double IPA.
The forecast for this winter was fairly accurate. Cold early, then warmer than normal. I was able to get out 3 times, more if I didn't get this f****** flu that everyones seems to have. I'll take it, now to get ready for open water.

It's pretty much all done now unless we get some very cold weather. We had 9 inches to start the day yesterday, and while we didn't loose really any ice, the top 4 inches were pretty bad by then end of the day. With today being 70 and rain the next 2 days it doesn't look good.

The flu this year is no joke! My mom has been in the hospital for a week!
Many heart related issues coming out of the flu this time so be carefull to all who get symptoms and are older or if you have youngsters.
I actually fished the South Bay of Bantam. It was supposed to be my memorial tourney for my father this weekend, but obviously that didn't happen, so I always try and find Ice somewhere on the 23rd, if I'm not doing the tourney.
Needed a 12' ladder to get on, but there was 5" of ice.

Almost put the ice gear away but, I may have one more trip in me!! My buddy fished one of my favorite places today in MA, still has 12-14" It's only about an hour ride from Springfield so, if any of you guys have your MA license and feel the need to scratch that itch one more time, let me know!!! This lake is a jiggers paradise!! Nice bass, decent crappie and tons of good sized punkers
