Congrats to Ott Defoe on winning the 2019 Bassmaster Classic.

My name is Jim. You can call me slim. I row my boat way out to the middle.Cause the fish I'm after ain't so little. Pike, Trout, Largemouth Bass. Get me out there really fast. I know I'm good, really the best. The rest of you are such a pest. - By Henry Gibson

I was there and it is a experience every bass fisherman should see .From the launches to the weigh ins were exciting .At the tackle expo ,you were able to see all the latest tackle, boats etc . Saw Tom from Reynolds there on Sat .At the weigh in I was able to meet Mrs Defoe ,his kids, and also his father. Also had conversations with Mr's Klein,Houston,Davis,Elias, and Grigsby to name a few .They were very generous with their time with me and the wife .It was very special to meet Forrest Wood and have pictures taken with him .Check one off the bucket list !

Great trip. To think CT. Could have hosted the Pittsburgh 3 rivers Classic. They refused to give concessions to the event. I remember the interview with the state guy who said we don't run a charity in CT.

I had heard a rumor in 2004 that we were in the running for the classic. I asked Denny Brauer at the Bass University up in Mass. He seemed very agitated that I knew that and said that he was on the committee and it hadn't been decided yet. My kids have blamed me for years that I caused the Classic to go to Pittsburgh. Now I know it wasn't my fault.

I fished with Denny on the river in 1994. To say he was not fond of the CT river would be an understatement. Maybe that had something to do with it!

Wonder what his problem was with the river?
