I have had two great encounters with this bird, and both times he outfoxed me and won. This morning I decided to try him again. I set up my blind and decoys along a cornfield where a woods road enters the field. The other day, he had strutted out to the field from here so I thought he may do it one more time. At 5 he commenced to gobbling about 150 yds behind me by the swamp. I let him gobble for almost 30 minutes before I hit him with 3 soft tree yelps. He responded immediately so I sat and just let him gobble. When he finally pitched down he gobbled behind me and to my left. He was close! I gave him a few yelps to let him know love was in the air,and waited for him to show. I spotted him coming in and I just let him come. At 15 yds he was close enough and I folded him. It was a classic hunt and I'm super pumped to outfox him this time. 19 lbs,9"beard and almost 1" spurs.
