i personally think that once Metallica started going on MTV the ,music gradually started to decline dont get me wrong they have put out good albums with a great song or two off of each one including st. anger which for the most part sucked..i would love to see them get Jason back i have seen these guys in show almost 2 dozen times through out my life.Rob t is no slouch but it isnt the same

As the years have passed and I have gotten older I have been getting into darker and harder metal, Mettalica doesn't even come close anymore. Now, I think of them as "stuck up, mainstream, sally wankers".
For those of you that like real metal and hardcore mosh pits, take a look at Cradle of Filth, Lamb of God and Static-X....to name a few.
Cradle of Filth is from England and are very popular in Europe and Scandanavia. I think they will be touring in the states next year, they have a new album coming out in October. They are definately my favorite...
Lamb of god is similiar to Pantera.
Static-X is like a cross between Rob Zombie and Pantera.
John, me and some buddies used to play the Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush "Live" album quite a lot back in the 1980's (at top volume). His song "Dragonfly" was very cool live and his live version of "Purple Haze" actually did the song justice, imo.
