With the heavy rains we just had the river has been junk. I decided to check it out yesterday afternoon and, while high, with lots of floating grass and debris, it was running clear. I started with a topwater and caught 3 on some spectacular blow ups, missed a few, and had a few bump it but refuse to eat.
Working my way back down river, I ran into a wolf pack that had a school of bait pressed up against the outside weed line. I tied on a soft jerk bait and for the next 20 minutes, literally, every cast produced at least a hit, lots of 10"-12" fish and the occasional bigger one too. What a riot! They finally moved off and so did I as I had lots of things to get done, but it was a high numbers trip with a few quality bites mixed in. Good times! Here's just a few of them.
Way to go Jon. Love it when you hit a wolfpack, no matter the size, always a blast.
