Skipjack herring.(for Buck) A. Chwrysochloris(hope i got that right?) Family : cluepeide...i,m rusty...whatever..george forgive my spelling they look like little tarpon,get up to 15/18"...anyway..skipjack are hands down the best striper/wiper/ catfish bait.guys on Tn websites are constantly asking :where arethe skipjack?"...well me and the wench found a pile yesterday.no stripers.but we loaded up on skips vaccum seal and freeze for later Got 3 nice cats also.lynnes first cat ever.24" 5lb. On a ul rod reel 4 lb line ,slip float and red wiggler worm.fun day great weather.i love it here.
the other cats were 19" 3.5 lbs ,17" 3lbs.Cordell Hull dam.this place is SOOO fishermen friendly,ada acessible,bathrooms,rod holders welded to the water barrier..tons of parking,no charge,no headaches/ hassles...sorry,im dead and in heaven... ...ugg upside down sorry guys,i suck at this.
Keith, your not dead. Hope you live a looooooooooooooooooong time to enjoy it down there. Wish I could get down to visit but wife needs me here and she won't go with me.

Cant wait to make it down to the ohio river next march for some wiper action. skip jacks are all they use. after hitting the ohio river dams I'm heading down to pensacola fl. Were having a really late indian summer. Havent even had a frost yet!!! Boats still in the water!!! Just installed a 400watt engine heater as well.

I have a few channel cats in my pond. They mostly feed on the alewife herring in there and at night they cruise the shoreline inhaling the small bluegills that are sleeping. Channels are a very aggressive species.
