With fall in full swing, the smallies are still chewin’!
The strong southwest wind was no good for my hunting spots, so I threw the gear in the truck and headed back to the river to see if I could find some fish.
It took a bit to piece together the pattern and locate them today, but the Strong SW wind allowed me to make extra long casts and cover water until I found what they were doing.
The soft jerkbait bait and a swim bait provided me with about a dozen really nice fish.
I keep thinking it’s over but the fish are still here fattening up. They’re thick and strong right now and I’m happy to get into them every chance I can get.

I’m wading. This 3-4 mile stretch is un-navigable by boat except in the spring or by jet boat. I see a kayaker now and then.
