Spring is tough buuutt ,fall wow.12 toms bachelors...had to pick one.phone crashed but some stuff works ,basically went into default.none the less 19 lbs. 8" beard and 1" spurs. ...and yes,in my food plot over my right shoulder...retirement has made me somewhat lazy.stay tuned for the deer story.trail cams showing 2 8 pointers and visuals ...loads of does.

Mature wild toms we breast them out trying to leave skin on.take the thigh meat.drumsticks good only for stock or a hammer.cant shoot hens here even in the fall.back in ct we,d shoot a young of the year bird for thanksgiving and pluck them.how? 3 or 4 beers and patience banghead

As you well know, fall is a totally different ball game more fun in the fall.me, personally the spring turkey game is still fun but i noticed the last 5/8 yrs. for me personally.a fall turkey hunt has more options and can be extremely tough.calling is not a primary strategy.i have gobbled in toms in the fall and cut and yelped in hens off the roost.it,s all good but fall turkey is no place for rookies.BTW had that boy for thanksgiving, very good, nutty ..the toms are feeding on acorns now, crop was full of them.
