This the place? http://dep.state.ct.us/stateparks/parks/lakewaramaug.htm You spelt it wrong, if so. Ill add it to favorites for the future. Looks like a nice place to hit up. Looks like there is a parking fee except on weekdays, car top only and no motors?

I was also at Waramaug on Saturday. June 14th. My friends and I camped there on Saturday night. We fished for an hour in the later afternoon, but didn't connect with any LMB. I was throwing a spinner and my friends were using nightcrawlers, we couldn't get past the panfish. I caught a good deal of bluegill, white perch, and rock bass. Waramaug is a great place, this was my first time there. The camping is awesome. It's a beautiful area. The only bad part of our trip was when I was awakened by a visitor sniffing around outside our tent at 4am. I was sleeping near the tent door with it unzipped a few inches for ventilation, and this visitor was literally a foot from my head, eating from a bag of chips that my buddy left just outside the tent. When I sat up and unzipped the window portion of the tent door, I was staring at a big, white, bushy tail, which was attached to a smelly skunk! He ate our chips and dip for about 15 minutes before waddling off into the woods. Other than that, it was a fun trip!

Rookie, Thanks for the correction. :p Thats it, cartop and if you got a motor thats fine. They had lake police though. I don't know about the fee for parking. i do know that I'll be camping there again this year if only for the fishing. Danny, If you fished it in the morning I was the guy with the canoe rowing standing up.

Great post Dickson. I wish I was fortunate when I was young to start fishing. But like they say, better late than never.

Lake williams is a great lake, I fished there probably 100 times last season, even though it is about an hour drive from my house... Wish I was gonna be home longer this season, I would go back... My buddy caught his biggest LMB ever at Williams 2 seasons ago, just over 7.5 lbs, and Caught On his very first cast ever there! And it was on a broken pole due to the ride up there... Funny thing is he really whooped up on me that day with that broken pole, he caught numerous fish over 4 lbs and lost a few other monsters... But it seemed like last season there were mostly small fish in there...
Basshunter, I'm guessing you already know this, but the best spots on Williams are the fragmite weeds on the far back of the lake, and the cove directly behind it.
There is also a pipe that comes in from a smaller lake in one of the coves that we pulled 6 bass over 2 lbs out of last year in 6 casts!
Everybody talking about fishing makes me jealous (I'm stuck here working in Washington D.C.), but I will be coming home this weekend to do some fishing, so if anyone has an open spot, let me know... My plans are to fish with Keith T. on Sunday and hit the Farmington River in The Riverton/Barkhamsted region possibly on friday...

Can i get some info on Lake williams? Like, where is it, big boats allowed and so on. Im a canoe'er so i dont like going where there are big boats. And im almost strictly catch and release. eeeek, nevermind. I did a search: http://www.lakewilliamscampground.net/rates.htm Looks like 10 bucks to launch there. Not to bad considering the tales you guys have told.
