With the turkey in the oven and the kids watching tv, I ran out to the norwalk river. When I arrived, I saw a lot of swirls from fish feeding. I put on a 1" pearl tube on a small jig head. First cast I pulled in a 11" rainbow trout. An hour and a half later, that was still my only fish. It started raining, I got cold and called it a day.

What, reveal my secret spot? Never, never, NEVER!!! \:D

It is in Ridgefield on route 7 right next to Walpole fencing. There is a parking area and you walk back maybe 50 yards and there is a small pond.

I've been fishing the Norwalk lately a lot too with Rooster Tails and getting lots of fish -- rainbows and browns. Biggest rainbow was 11 1/2. I fish in Wilton, Merwin Meadows park and behind the Village Market. Lot of fun!

Welcome aboard WiltonFish.

I live on the Norwalk/Wilton line right across the street from the River. I last fished it February. I'll have to get out there.

Hey Mitch,

I work down near the border (50 Danbury) and I've wondered how the fishing is down there as I could easily run across the street during my lunch break. Any good?

BTW, regarding the stocking of Merwin Meadows pond, Trout Unlimited, who stocks the pond for the Special Olympics event, tried to fish a lot of the trout out of there and throw them in the river. Judging by my attempts to fish in the pond itself, I think they did a good job!

Next year why not volunteer at the Special Olympics. This year we had more than 50 special olympians there. Each one gets a buddy to fish with, lunch, a tee shirt and an award. Much of the goodies are donated by the Mike Lupica family.
