Kids hung out with the wife and grammy at the pond while my uncle and I trooped the stream. He caught one dace all day long. I caught 4 nice trout, lost a couple and seen a couple attempts.

The pond itself produced nothing at all on mealies.
Seems the fish are spread out with one here and one there. 2 of them i got came out of one hole while all the others, hits, misses and attempts came one here and there.

Lost all my black rooster tails to trees. Black was the only color to produce anything, as usual.

Anyone i talked to all day there seemed to not have any luck.

I fished the Wepawaug today also. I caught 2 rainbow and lost 4 more.I caught 1 in the stream about 60 feet from Eisenhower Park Pond, and another I caught in the pond at the bottom. They were hitting on the smallest size countdown rapalas. Seemed only the really deep holes were producing. What part did you fish??

When i got there, i fished from the pond up to the no trespassing sign. Just up from the pond, i lost one and had one follow. I caught one way up by the no trespassing area before heading back.

Then went back to the pond, met up with my uncle and went down stream pretty far. Caught 2 more below the dam, down stream a bit around the first bend where the BIG tree is laying over.

Picked up another farther down. Also lost one down there in that area.

Did you pick one up just up from the split before the pond, where the water enters the pond, just a openning up from there on that side path? I lost one there at the start.

I got there around 11:00 or so, stayed with the wife and kids for a few minutes at the pond and then started up stream.

A dace, well, thats a hard one. They are funny looking silver fish with sucker like mouths. When you hold them and try to remove the hook, or whatever, they talk to you. Well, not actualy talking but squalking and groaning or something like that.

They are ugly chubby silver fish that grow to good sizes in this river. In the summer youll find many more of these ugly things than youll find trout. Some get as big as the stocked trout. If you fish this stream alot, youll run into one sooner or later. If its silver, ugly and makes weird noises, you gots a dace.

There has been some chat about dace in the past. Once the board opens back up thursday, do a search on dace.

I usualy wade up stream durring the summer months. Its boring alone and enough room for 2. Are you interested in something like that?

Me and my dad would love to try wading with you. We only have hip boots, would that be fine?

Ok, maybe its not a dace. Thats what i was told they where years ago. Here is a dace http://sites.state.pa.us/PA_Exec/Fish_Boat/pafish/fishhtms/chap11.htm#blkdace

What i think it is now, is this http://sites.state.pa.us/PA_Exec/Fish_Boat/pafish/fishhtms/chap11.htm#creekch

Not really sure. It looks like the creek chub but im not sure.

Well, whatever it is, its a junk fish. Ive read of people throwing them on the shore to die, but i throw them back. I dont have enough info to know throwing them to the shore is ok.

No on the hip boots. To wade the stream you would need wadders and calmer water. Mid summer is ideal for that stream. Posibly early summer. It all depends how fast the water level declines. You want it low, but not low enough that you cant fish the holes. The stream is ideal for a couple but 3 would be tough.
