Eggo and i decided to hit squantz tonight.
fished from 6:30pm till 10pm.
the lake looked great. very calm with suface activity everywhere.
caught 3 walleye, one small one, maybe 7 or 8 inches. the other 2.??????? we diddnt have the tape, or the scale. but they were fun!
2 small smallies,3 rock bass, 2 yellows, 4 bullhead,1 whit perch, and 50 alewifes.
only one fish came on the slip bobber. set at 7ft. all the other came on the bottom rigs in 12ft or so.
heres some pics.

sorry for the short post. im beat.
looooong day....
but what a great way to finish it.
good night.

Joeinct, we use fresh caught alewifes.

Woolly bug, good luck. the pattern ive noticed is, just before its dark, and first light in the morning are the 2 best bites lately. last night the lake just seemed to shut down when it got dark.

This catching alewife thing is realy working out for us, (for now). we brang 2 1/2 doz, used them up, and brought home 4 doz, fresh ones.
seems they dont bite nearley as well when they ball up near the surface. so we kept lowering the light to keep them down. different balls of bait want different presentations with the sabiki. some want it on a steady fluent up and down motion. and a different ball will want it motionless. if you jig thru the Ice alot, this will be easy to pick up. it does require alot of finess.
we had a blast cating them again last night. cant wait till next tues, to meet some of you walleye "pros" and shoot the breeze about the fish!

I remember you saying somthing about the walleyes getting some kind of skin disease?
the bigger one I got there was realy ugly, and very skinny.
