Huskybass; I think in the near future we are going to see many larger bass caught now. And i think the guys who increase their time on the water are going to do it. Heck you guys just may get on a roll and pop out many numbers big bass who knows whats out there yet. If you have the time to go by the moon phases (excellent times to fish) it has to happen. BigBill
I won't tell you i told you so either. I didn't know they were there either till it happened to me. But if you break a new state record you do owe me something........a cold one!! thats all!! (kidding)
What about Taunton? I would imagine those guys truck in live shiners or alewives or whatever for those monster pay lake bass.
I don't know guys, there has to be a 12+ lb'er in CT. I recently bought the Gazeteer, and have spent hours scouring it for small water to bring my little basstender...and I look at some of these remote lakes and ponds, and can't help but think that they receive little if not any pressure during a fishing season. There has to be a record in one of those lakes.
Here are some that have caught my eye...any info about them would be a good read!
1. Riga Lake or South Pond 2. Wangum Lake 3. Bigelow Pond 4. Peck Pond 5. Fuller Pond
I didnt say bigelow was a joke. I was just laughing at my past experiences there. I have fished it alot and there is not a big concentration of bass. Its mostly stocked with trout and thats what i usually catch there. I have gotton a couple threes out of it but not alot of bites anytime ive been out. Check the pond 1.1 miles in the woods next to bigelow now thats where the bigguns lurk. As for " your the bassmaster now " comment, lets not take this thread to seriuosly....OK
WONKA - I know, just kidding. Guys like you motivate me to continue the quest for that prized fish. I enjoy your post a lot, didn't mean to come across the wrong way.
Good info on Bigelow...does that lake in the woods adjacent to Bigelow have any driving access up to it? Have you ever fished Breakneck next to Mashapaug?
Greenback - Several fellow site members have inquired about your posts to me, and I explained to them that it's all in good fun, that you and I know each other well, and that you are an avid fisherman just like everyone here.
Give us a little bio of yourself for the other ctfisherman.com members.
