Hello, last week I had my yearly pilgramage to my mecca, Old Killingly Pond. It's rather private and hard to get in there and fish. It's a very clear water and quite beautiful. Anyway, I was with my girlfriend who caught her first certifiable lunker...I believe on an Arkansas Pond shiner.....she obviously doesn't like to "touch" fish...

She was quite pleased with that catch.
Here is my first catch of the trip on a senko in early afternoon...

This one was at night on a spinner bait...I swear I was catching fish one right after the other in my kayak on spinner baits...it was ridiculous..

And another..

This was on another pond shiner..it's a little dirty cuz I dragged it up the beach....

And one last one during that monsoon on saturday..

All told I caught so many fish I lost count. I caught them on just about everything in my tackle box. The pond shiner killed them. Folks were also using little frogs and crawfish. Not only bass but perch too. At one point I was tempted to throw a bud can in there and try to catch something with it. ;\) All fish were healthy and released unharmed. Anyway, great place to fish if you can get in there. Carry on..... \:\)

I will not die, but awaken from the dream I've lived.

I'm back and worse than ever.

Great job Pete and some nice pics. Unfortuanately we lose a fish now and then but I know you work hard to C&R as most guys here do. Wish I could have been there. What was your biggest?

Joe, I'd say 4lbs tops. Didn't get anything giant. It almost seemed that all the fish I was catching were exactly the same size....my friends at one point accused me of catching the same fish over and over...but then again they weren't catching anything. Some of the LMB were very bold and you could sit on the rocks from shore and just watch them cruise around back and forth.....they didn't even care you were hovering over them.

I'm back and worse than ever.

Pete,
What a great trip you had!!! I am very envious but happy you caught so many big bass!  Your girlfriend sure did land a "lunker" and the fish she caught wasn't bad either!
