Ha-Ha, boy those were the days!!! Jamming in the basement of Vic's parents' house in Plainville,Vic/guitar, my cousin Mark/guitar,Jeff W./guitar, Rich S./bass, John P./drums (me/guitar, (when they'd let me play) HA-HA) along with quarts of beer... life was fun.
I still have Fates Warnings first vinyl LP "Night on Bröcken" somewhere buried in my closet along with all my guitars, & amp, etc...
Thank you Mitch for posting that about the new album. You have brought up some fond memories of "In the days of my youth"!!!

Saw Guns N' Roses yesterday at Metlife Stadium for the "Not in This Lifetime" tour. They put on a heck of a show, especially in this heat. It was Slash's birthday, and he was on fire.
They're going to do it all over again tonight.
They certainly aren't jipping fans with this tour. The set list and length is just awesome. They played for almost 3 hours.
I saw them back in the day, but it was great to share the experience with the wife and some friends who have never seen them, including a great pre-game tail gate!
Yesterday's show ranks up in their in my top 10, and I've seen quite a few.

My buddy saw G & R at Gillette last week, said they were awesome. I remember seeing them with Metallica and Faith no More about 25 years ago, they sounded like sh*t. Metallica blew them off the stage. But I guess this latest version is pretty good from what I hear.
You can say anything foolish to a dog, and that dog will still give you a look that says, "WOW!! What a great idea!! I never would have thought of that!!"

I did not know the album would be that long, but I'm psyched. Death Magnetic is tremendous. This song is solid, and they are saying that this album really gets back to their roots. I can't stomach St. Anger. It is a total train wreck, as was Reload. I'm praying this is as good as DM, as I don't think they have too many albums left in them. Truly one of the greatest bands ever, and hands down my favorite for the past 30 years. Hard to believe they've been making music for 35 years and are still going heavy! Rock on!!
PS Listening to the Pandora stream of their live show from the new Metrodome as I type this. They are amazing live. Can't wait to see them again.
