All,

There is now a fishing report template for you to use. For now, it's only activated in for saltwater reports forum. When you go to create a new topic, look just below the smiley icons for the "Post Template" drop-down menu and select the one option "Fishing Report".

Click that before typing in your report.

Using this template is entirely optional.

It will fill in some suggested text to include in your post (see below). Let me know if you think something else should be included in the template.

For now, let's just test this out for the saltwater reports and I will soon add it for other forums.

Stay tuned for a few more changes soon.

General location(s):
Date:
Time:
Shore or boat:
Water temp:
Depth fished (surface, mid, bottom, etc.):
Max depth:
Methods (cast, troll, bait-fish, etc.)
Lures used:
Bait used:
Tide:
Species caught:
Total # of fish caught:
Fish weights:
Fish lengths:
Kept or released?:
Gear used (rod, reel, line, etc.):
Full report details:

Mitch you should add weather conditions and moon phase for a complete roundup of the report.

Mitch, for some reason, the template didn't work in my report. I looked it up copied and pasted from this post and reported. FYI.
I like the format,though.
