is it ok to put a shanty on a public lake for the hole winter and im not talk en about a portable one im talk en about the ones you see up in vt the big ones
Interesting, thanks Skip. I always thought it was illegal in CT to have a fixed shanty (like a wooden one that clearly was left to stay on the ice for days).

No, there's nothing on the books about it. I guess with our short season the use of hardside shantys is something that isn't an issue down here...other than the occasional pirate who builds one on a trailer

If there is one thing I dislike about fishing in VT its the permanent shanties. But, I can think of more than a few spots where I would like to put one in CT. Always thought it was illegal myself. Interesting.
