Here is the question is it legal to hunt with a suppressed rifle on private property. I have looked and can not see any laws making it illegal. Thanks for your time on this site.

No, it is prohibited although the statute uses the word silencer rather than suppressor but legally it's the same thing.

Sec. 26-75. Silencer on firearms. No person shall use any silencer on any firearm when hunting.

Four Ten - Can you define a suppressed rifle as a flash suppressor is very different than a silencer.

Wanted to use a suppressor on a 308 to quiet it down with sub sonic loads it is pretty quiet, with all the anti gun/hunting types it would be nice, people only complain about what they can hear and see. There really is no such thing as a silencer you can make a rifle silent only quiet it down. Encon thanks

Thanks Four Ten. Encon, can you please clarify if a rifle with a flash suppressor (not a silencer) is legal to hunt with on private property?

Flash suppressor is OK. What the statute is referring to is something you need a Federal permit to own.

You might be able to get around it if you show medically that you have a hearing issue, talked to a guy in Maine who did this. If it's that important to you it might be worth checking into.

Back home we got a taxidermy man. He gonna have a heart attack when he see what I brung him.

There's no exemption in the statute. If you have a hearing issue you can wear earplugs or muffs. They make the one's that you can still hear with or amplify sound, then shut down with a loud noise.
