Slow Cooked Venison Neck Roast - 03/03/22 09:37 PM

This post is intended to remind, or enlighten you, that some of the “ less desirable”parts of your deer actually result in some of the finest meals imaginable.
The forgotten shanks and the lowly neck roast are usually destined for the grind pile by most hunters.
These cuts are actually wonderful if braised or slow cooked.
Tonight we feasted on a beautiful neck roast that I browned off then put in the slow cooker for the day.
It was literally falling apart like pulled pork when I cut it up!
What a great meal.
Remember this next fall… save the shanks and the neck roast.
You will thank me!

Awesome feast right there!…..again!

I always made neck roasts. They’re GREAT!

I’ve never made venison shanks, always added them to the grind or cubed stew meat pile, but would like to try them….good reminder.

Looks DELICIOUS !
That's the only way to prepare a neck roast for the table.
The last CTF game dinner I attended, I brought a crockpot neck roast. Either somebody washed the pot before nights end or swiped it clean with a roll to get the last bit of gravy deliciousness. beerchug

Mark,
I got your recipe that night. I was so impressed with it. Been using neck roasts ever since.
