Chasing Bronze 6/20-6/23 - 06/23/23 09:47 PM

I made a trip north to fish for a few days with my buddy Eric (Atsakeepa).
We had a great time catching quality smallies on jigs and swimbaits.
The sound of silence was only broken by the shrill cry from a loon, and we watched in awe at the beauty of bald eagles. The crystal clean water is both challenging to fish, but amazing to see the bottom 15 feet down.
We had sunny skies and calm wind, tourism bureau weather, but the slick calm conditions made the fishing tough. Smallies living in an aquarium like to feed up when it’s churning in a chop.
We fished hard, ate well, emptied some beer cans at the end of the long days and laughed like kids again. It was a perfect getaway!
