Shouldn't this apply to Candlewood Lake too? Every fall about 15% of the lake's water is drained out to lower the lake for the winter weed kill. Then in the early spring 15% is added back in from the Housatonic river just upstream from the mouth of Lake Lilli to bring Candlewood back to full pool. This is done every year. Certainly the New Milford arm is no better than the main Housy. Maybe in the upper Sherman arm you have some virgin water sourced from a very clean Sherman Brook but the middle of the lake in New Milford, Brookfield and New Fairfield are no different than the Housatonic River.
And now they want more chemicals to kill weeds.
