You backing down on your prediction of a repeat? biggrin

Seriously, this will be much nicer water for fishing out of a kayak.

So only lily, or any lake connected, like lake Housatonic and Zoar?

Re: PIKETOBERFEST XVI - Oct. 22, 2017 - 07/13/17 05:32 PM

Ah, interesting concept and good idea. I don't see any reason why we'd have to limit it to just Lilly. As long as the person made it back to Lilly on time at the end, I think that would be fine. But let me just confirm that with Paul Dona to make sure he agrees and I'm not missing something. Thanks, Mike.

Saltwater CTFers allow anywhere on LIS as long as you make set place for weigh in time. Open up your minds unleaded water guys. wink2

BTW....I have been to a few Piketoberfests (including 2016), and I'm not in any group pics I can see.....#Deleted smile1 ....freakN Mitch/BigBrotha editorialist

Hmmmm. I am torn. My gut is to limit to Lilli but up to you Mitch. I am launching at Steel Bridge and there isn't money at stake so whatever. I just am pumped it's Lilli just for the change, and yes the ride too!!!

Like Lilly,
Dislike Waterbury.

Great idea mixing it up!

Don't we do this to help the DEEP collect data? Aren't there tagged pike in Lilli that are stocked VS. the naturally spawning ones? Will we need to be shown the difference?

Re: PIKETOBERFEST XVI - Oct. 22, 2017 - 07/17/17 09:40 AM

I like the idea of 1 location, keeping CTFer's together. There is no money involved, only bragging rights and the highly coveted paddle, and mugs. I have no clue even where Lilli is and never fished it. This will be awesome! Bring back the party barge and balloon launcher!!

NVM...not DEEP that stocks it

I'm not sure what these "pike" things are, but I may try to make it down for this. wink2

Re: PIKETOBERFEST XVI - Oct. 22, 2017 - 08/03/17 07:54 PM

The lake is broke down into 3 places to launch in the fisheries guide.
Which launch is the steel bridge?

Thinking hard about this, it's a real long ride from Suffield....
May bring the yak.

Been a while since we've seen you at Piketoberfest. Don't overthink it. Just come.

There are quite a few nice, protected coves and shores to fish from a yak.

Plus, we need as many CT anglers to prevent an out-of-stater like Bob from taking home the prize. biggrin

Any details on this yet? No entry fee? Is there a limit of participants? Rules? Time?

Re: PIKETOBERFEST XVI - Oct. 22, 2017 - 08/04/17 10:13 AM

Dave, basically it will look like last years with the body of water change, and $10.00 entrance fee.

PIKETOBERFEST 2016

Bob can have his little dink pickerel, this is what we're after:

Would love to be able to fish this again if my schedule allows. I know there is a lot of time but have you decided if you will limit it to Lily only?

Frank, we're going to keep it to just Lilly.

Just makes sense to have everyone on one body of water for a variety of reasons - safety, fun, and even playing field.
