2017 - 2018 first ice countdown thread

Temps down in the 40s tonight.

Last year was December 16th . My guess is December 19th. Hopefully sooner

Low of 23 friday.

Yesterday 3:45PM got gas in Haddam and the window wash tray hanging there had skin ice in it!

Skim ICE on my 10 acre backyard pond during a beautiful Fall Sunrise this morning.

Time to move it up.

Pray for no rain. and low winds.

Who wants to icefish ?!!!! My backyard pond is 100% iced over this morning!....1 day later than the pic a few posts above.

Winchester Lake the cove near road is locked with skim ice on main lake as of yesterday afternoon.

Thanks for the update Mike! Keep us posted. We simply must ice-fish together this year. Even if we have to show up at your door, and drag you behind Kapt's quad to the lake.

Some neighborhood kids ice fished my pond on Monday the 18th, probably three to four inches of ice. Only safe in one shady cove. Another post in another thread mentioned there is four inches of ice with fishermen on Mohawk Pond. With the warm spell the last two days maybe it is unsafe now.
