Here you go. Bantam has about 4". Anything up Goshen way is guaranteed to be good. (Tyler, Dog, and West Side.} Mt. Tom had a few guys at the southern end, and not too far out, so I guess it's iffy, but not for long. Hatch in Kent has plenty of ice. I would guess Crescent lake in Southington is good. Was completely ice covered 3 days ago. And last Sunday, I checked Moodus Res. and it was covered, so with the past few day temps, it's probably good.

Fished our small club pond today in Killingworth. 3 inches and growing. I never have too much luck at Black pond but will probably be there tomorrow. Capt Morgan in Madison says he's getting bait tomorrow, Fishing Factory in Middletown has shiners.

Didn’t go out on the ice but 6 different groups out on Crystal Lake in Ellington at 11 am today. Whole lake is frozen and the whole lake should be fish able any day now.

Bantam had over 5 on Friday, so there's even more by now. Note: There was still some open water towards south bay, so be careful if you walk from north all the way to south.

Candlewood was mainly open water on Friday, except for insides of coves. Hopefully she freezes this year.

CAREFUL out there all.

Even with was these frigid temps my buddy's father-in-law and his friend went through the ice yesterday in Mass on Lake Quinsigamond playing hockey and had to be rescued and treated in hospital for 8 hours before being released.

If a neighbor hadn't taken action with a kayak and ropes they probably both would have died soon in yesterday's temps!

Candlewood all covered? That's what I wanted to hear. I would think Squantz would be covered too.

Don, that is crazy. Check this out:

#Repost @stanley_dirtmonkey_genadek ・・・ Here’s a few ice tips from a Minnesotan. 4” is safe to walk on, 5-7” is good for an ATV, 8-12” a small car, 12-15” a pickup. White ice or Snow ice is 1/2 as strong as clear ice. If you park on ice -auger a hole next to your car. If water comes out the hole-MOVE because the ice is sinking. Stay safe this season. I found this at my @liftedtrucksmatter -they have tons of awesome posts like this. #icefishing #iceskating #icerink #countrylife #farmlife #contractor #construction #sinking #sinkingship #safety #safetyfirst #build #icehouse #lakelife #lakeside #fishing #fishinglife #fishingtrip #minnesotan #minnesota #icefishingnation

I fished the cover Friday and had 4"+ in most spots, it was thinner is some spots, but still over 3 inches. Perch were hungry, lots of fatties in a 2 hour trip all released for others to enjoy. I am sure it's probably 6+ now.

Silver Lake in Berlin (center of the state)
7" on the West side of the lake near tracks on Jan 1st.
Definitely some thinner spots especially out towards the middle so always... be careful.

Walleye and crappie - such a good spot when you're on them.
