Creel limit question

Creel limit question - 08/13/11 01:23 PM

Hi-
I am a licensed saltwater fisherman. I often go fishing with my 9 year old who is not required to be licensed. Does the creel limit for a particular species count independently for him and for me, or do we share a single creel limit since he isn't licensed? E.g if the creel limit is 10, do we each get to keep 10? Or do we, combined, get to keep a total of 10? It's snapper blue season and I don't want to short change him... smile1

Thanks!

You may want a DEP guy answering but I was led to believe he can keep a creel limit as well, like if someone under the age of requiring a license would be fishing alone.

I've been fishing with Kayley since she was 3.5 [now 9] our creel limit is always mine & hers [she gets her own].

5 trout a piece, etc...

I asked the same question when we were first fishing :-)

no shared creel limit. Each angler has their own creel limit regardless of age.
