Mangey Coyote - 01/11/14 01:12 PM

I have been having trouble getting this resolved. Every time I call, I get redirected somewhere else. We have a nasty looking coyote that has taken up residence in our area. We see it during the daylight hours in our backyard. There isn't a lot of property in my neighborhood and I have been here for 10 yrs and never seen one in the daylight. Nor have I seen one this sickly looking. I just rescued a lab and the last thing I need is an encounter between the two when I let him out to use the bathroom. Is there any way this animal could be trapped and relocated? Please help. Short beach road Branford. Pete Hawley 203-430-4014
Thank you

Make calls to animal control and the wildlife officials. DOCUMENT ever call and letter just in case ,well, something happens.
Perhaps speak to a few people in a place that is not a public forum for results as well rolleyes .

If it's got mange trapping and relocating is not an option. If you've got 500 feet or more to any neighbor's homes, coyotes are in season right now. Either way, we don't trap coyotes and relocate them. You can contact a Nuisance Wildlife Control Operator (they used to be called exterminators) who can legally trap them, but he will have to dispose of it if it is diseased.

There is no 500 foot rule for archery. Can't you get someone to dispatch it?
