Candlewood 7/1 with the kids - 07/05/17 07:39 PM
Got out on Candlewood on Saturday 7/1 with the kids and some friends. We set up on one of the islands for some swimming and lunch.
It wasn't the best weather day with lots of clouds and wind, but we'd get the occasional break of sun, and it was still warm out.
When we busted out the rods, it was game on! We couldn't bait the rods fast enough. All of the kids enjoyed catching a ton of sunfish, and a few white perch were also in the mix. It was the first time fishing for two young brothers. I love trips like that!
When I got back to the launch in the late afternoon, I was shocked that there was only one other trailer in the lot! I assume the weather scarred people off and it only got busier for the rest of the holiday weekend.
