Yep. There's a little known clause in the CTF by-laws.

Member of the Year Awards can be retracted.

Re: 2018 karma thread - 02/24/18 09:23 AM

question.

i watched the video. it would appear hand guns do not stop people, at all.

did i miss something? that man took NO LESS THAN 3 shots within 5 feet, the first nearly point blank in the body, and STILL has enough power to not only walk, but continue robbing the store?

someone explain this to me. That man SHOULD be dead. At least 2 were center mass shots. I wanted that guy to drop and be DEAD the first shot, and those brave women to be safe. Didnt happen. She was nearly pummeled to death, let alone shot point blank by him.

I guess its not like video games after all. Deer sprint away when you shoot them through the chest in many hunting reports here. Ive watched several videos like this where the person is shot and continues to attack, often successfully. Perhaps its not at all like we imagine, where a citizen who summons the will to defend what is theirs, or protect themselves or others has only to muster the nerve and master the skill to fire a bullet into another human being and everything is finished. I guess, as this and other videos show, the bad guys dont simply drop in their tracks like in the movies.

The first time i saw it, i was astonished. This is at least the 20th video i have watched where a private citizen defends against an attacker with a handgun, and in each one the attacker either escapes on their own two feet, or continues the attack in some capacity for a length of time, and it is clear to me that although it helps, Concealed carry is not only an unsure bet, but even when you get the nerve the skill and the clarity to not panic in the moment it often may not be enough.

Thats the difference between shooting someone with a light subsonic projectile and a high velocity round like a .223 or 5.56. But what do iIknow, just some math and physics. Maybe an ammunition expert like MattC can tell us what really happened. Looks like these good guys with a gun almost got themselves killed.
