Hi,

Took my small 12ft to the park sat to catch some lrg pickeral and work on my drop shot technique for bass. I was mostly after one of those 4lbs pickeral.

Well, i got to see one after i drifted to close to the bank. He was crusing 4 ft from the boat near shore. It was at least 29" and fat. After a couple of hours and no pickeral, decided to fish for some bass.

Worked one area, got a few bites, then finally landed a 1 pound bass. First drop shot bass for me.

Then all of a sudden a hear a huge splash behind me about 50 yrds, scared the heck out of me. It was a osprey diving for a fish. I watched him fly away with no fish. He was at the pond all day fishing. Near the end of the day i ended up going under him while he was perched in a tree. He sat there for a good 10 mins, heres a pic...

About 6:00 i tried a spot where i was told somebody caught a big fish last week. Had a slip bobber and shiner out. A young couple in a canoe start paddling by me and the guy said you got something. I set the hook and this 2-3 pound pickeral lauches out of the water almost into the couples canoe. The fish put on a good show for them and good fight for me. Nice way to end the night and the guy in the canoe gave me 2 beers which was cool.

Does anybody know if they are going to start stocking trout again there? I assume with the hot summer last year, all trout are dead.

I had an Osprey dive and hook itself on my slug-go once at a lake in RI. He wouldn't let go, put up a big fight. After he flew 2 feet from my head I thought it would be a good idea to cut the line.
