\:D ...NICE

Looks like you had a fun trip nonetheless......nonetheless meaning that you had a good time even though Zach was there.....not nonetheless that you had a good time even though you didn't catch a walleye! \:D

Hey jae, do you sleep?

It was nice meeting you last night. Too bad the Walleyes didn't cooperate. It was a great night on the water and it was fun hanging out before fishing. Zach cooked up some brawts that were great and then we ended with some venison sausage which I brought.

I boated one nice brown of about 15" five minutes out, but than nothing but a few possible taps the rest of the night. I was using medium/small shiners.

Alewives were difinitely the bait of choice to catch fish. Zach will fill you in on how he did with the alewives.

I have one picture that I will post later.

and my squantz walleye skunk continues to loom large...

BUT the trout were co-operative- I landed 3 and missed one other - my nicest was 17.5" - around 10PM on an alewife on bottom

here is MEfisherman's trout around dusk

and I had a nice runoff around 10:30 or so- and after a heroic battle, here is a pic of my trophy 5lb walleye... ahem' I mean 5lb CATFISH \:o

thanks MEfisherman for the boat ride! I had a blast, even though I can still hear that walleye-skunk laughing  I am not done yet!

nice getting to meet up with Jae and Warren - and I believe we saw CrazyIvan set up on the beach- but he came too late for the grilled sausages- too bad because those were delicious! \:D

my friend's brother was out fishing, too (unbeknownst to me at the time) and he had a lot of action with the trout on a spoon- its definitly prime time for trout right now...

Yeah, that was me on the beach. Not a bite. Had my dogs in the car and I could hear them barking at something so I called it at 9pm.

Where were you setup Zach??

I've only fished Squantz once during a CTF walleye outing there 2 years ago I believe.

I "won the pool" with the only walleye taken....and it was just legal. I caught it just feet from pulling the rods in on the way back to the boat launch....saved the skunk. I had Bogey and Dickson as my crew....so yes....I was expecting a skunking and was shocked of the legal taker.

I filleted it and cooked it right there and we divided it among all CTFers in attendance. It was quite a miracle of Biblical proportions were 1 tiny fish fed the masses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! \:D

I believe I caught it on a jointed black/gold Rapala.

It was a good time nontheless.

Here's my report from that 2003 CTF Squantz walleye Banger Outing
==================================================

WOW!!!!...that was definitley SLOOooooooooooow fishing, but we all still had a great time.

Basshunter and Bogey were great guys to "fish" (go for a boat ride) with. Lots of laughs last night....great guys. We trolled 6 rods last night the entire time and only ended up with that one small and TASTY wallleye right before we pulled the lines in to pull the boat out....what timing.

I'm still waiting for Bogey's picture of "my rental cottage" to surface! ....and I still laugh when I think of those 3 turkey vultures that kept circling high above our boat the entire time....Basshunter & I kept telling Bogey they were waiting on him taking his last breath!

I can't remember EVER trolling more than a hundred or so yards with 2 rapalas....let alone 6 without getting a hit!

Slow fishing, but once again the people and the food more than made up for it. ANOTHER great CTF outing!

Glad to meet you all.

--------------------------------------------------
PS-The ride home was bad with that construction traffic on I-84 Eastbound.....BTW nfish thanks for letting me merge in on your lane. I didn't get home until 1AM!!!!!....tough getting up this morning for today's double shift.
