Friday 10/1 I fished Long Meadow Pond from 9:30am till 6pm. And had one of the worst days there al year 3 bass & 3 pickerel.
Sat 10/2.
After the bad day at Long Meadow. I needed to catch a lot of bass. So I headed to Mammy, where you can catch them in bunches. Got there around 10am. Noticed a brown scum all over the water. When the wind picked up it got better. There were a lot of milfoil clumps. The most I've seen in years. Still managed to use a spinnerbait & rattletrap away in deeper water.
In all I caught 42 bass between 9" & 14"
10/3
Hatch Pond. If you really want to know the meaning of turbid water. Go to Hatch Pond. Visability about 8". Got on the water around 9:30am Water temp was 63. Didn't expect much when I saw the water. Caught one right away on a spinnerbait. Moved out to the edge of the weedline. After many casts I caught another on a rattletrap. Went to the pads by where the South Kent School keep there skull racing boats. And caught 7 more bass in the pads. These bass were between 12" & 14". Fished the steep shoreline till I got to the 1st house. Owned by Jack Corrigan. By this time I had caught 17 bass.
He asked me where I've been. I told him I don't catch many large bass there anymore, so I've been going to other ponds. Chatted with Jack & his son in law Kurt.(Who was having minor outboard motor problems) \:D They told me of a fish kill there a few weeks earlier. After a storm there was an area of nasty smelling brown scum on the pond. (The last time I was there the place had a foul smell to it.) The smell and the scum are gone now.
To make this story short. By the time I got back to the launch I ended up catching 32 bass.
BUT WAIT. I SAVED THE BEST OF THIS REPORT.
While flipping.( YOU GUESSED IT) a Stalker Tiger Tube in the pads. I catch the NEW LARGEST BASS I've caught this year. YESSSSSS. at 6.5lbs @ 22" lg & 16" in girth. WHAT A WAY TO END THE LAST WEEK OF VACATION THIS YEAR.

6.5lb

Thanks Jack & Kurt for taking These pictures.

MAN I LOVE THIS SPORT WHAT A FANTASTIC YEAR THIS HAS BEEN.
It's almost a year since I've joined this site. What a ride it's been. \:\) \:\) \:\)

Beautiful fish my friend. You have got to be one of the most productive fisherman I have seen this year. Your posts are always a clip right out of a Bill Dance video...

Just so you know, fellow CT fisherman, Fish Head taught me a little about tubes and I actually caught my first fish ever on a tube.. It was a sunfish and not a 6 pound bass but ...nevermind...that sucks. haha,

Anyway I have caught a few more bass on it so it is a start. I still want to fish with the master though... Maybe I could take a picture with your fish and tell women I caught it...hahaha... I am sure I would have panties thrown at me...

Anyway, Great great fish...and good work.
You da man.

Wow Jim, Nice way to wrap up the vacation! Glad to see the Gigantous Maximus Tube worked out for you.

I was checking out some tackle I had, and found a flipping stick with a baitcaster design for flipping/pitching.

I will be looking forward to an on the water seminar next year.

Jim -

You're my hero. You fish all the ponds and lakes I fish, and you land monsters and I get skunked. It's become fun for me to live in your wake, and fish where you find success through those unbelievable bass pictures. Well, Long Meadow didn't work out but it was still very, very promising. And Mammy, well, still looking for that 3+ in Mammy.

And today, I go in search of the record at the record holder...separate report.

Jim, are you planning on fishing the Snowball Tournament?
