Three of us in the boat yesterday to break all the records for numbers of bass in a day. The total for our trip -2-.

We fished lake Pocotapaug in East Hampton about 5- 6 hours yesterday landing only two fish. Bluefox got a nice smallie on a spinnerbait that went approx. 2.5 lbs. It was a fighter and great looking fish. Husky will post a pic later.

I landed one LMB about 1.75 lbs and missed a couple of others. HB had one nice LMB on close to the boat that looked close to 3ish. That was it for the day. Water temps were 62 and the air was 72. Fished rockpiles, shorelines, docks, grassy dropoffs and edges. A very tough day to say the least.

Bluefox and I then decided to try Amos after that,Husky had previously made plans so he could not join us. It was a beautiful night at Amos. Water temps still at 64.5 at night. Very calm with a slight breeze. Fishing was slow for most of the night. We had a twenty minute span where we caught three fish. I landed one at 2 lb, then another at 3 lbs. Minutes later Blue get this one for our third and final fish of the night.

This one weighed in at 4.1 and provided us with some good excitment as our day was so uneventful.

Another good day out with the fellas. Our day trip was so bad we had topics like, "Is a bad day of fishing really better than a good day of work?".

At that point we were concurring that the answer that work may have been a better option but in rerospect..No way..Great day guys...At least we laughed.

You guys are out fishing and I'm toiling away in the Salt Mine. Do the math. I'd much rather be out on the water catching nothing than be here! Nice Fish Bluefox, very nice. Sounds like you guys had a great time regardless.

Always a good time... Even if the fishing is slow. Thats what really makes Husky and Joe the good fishing partners that they are...Anyone can take ya fishing...but it takes a good partner to keep ya smiling when the fishing is slow.

Just one example... Husky knew that the fishing was slow, and he knew that he had to do something to keep us entertained. So very nonchalantly, he told me to cast my spinnerbait and watch... As I casted the spinnerbait Husky used his cat like reflexes to catch my spinnerbait...in mid air...with his neck... AMAZING!!!

As if the amazement that Joe and I felt was not enough, Husky decided to throw in some Humor by making this funny porpoise sound as he caught the spinnerbait...WOW...is he ever versatile!

Thanks Husky and Joe for a great trip...!!

PS. Noone was hooked during this ordeal and I have signed up to attend a course in the fall... CASTING 101.

Sorry HB. \:D

A bad day of fishing is WAY better. Nice job under some tough conditions. I've had a tough couple weeks myself. Blue, where were you hiding that fish sunday? Did you put him on a stringer so we can find him for the tourney in November? ;\) I have a tourney at Amos this sunday, expecting tough fishing. Who knows, maybe I'll catch that record. \:D Nice to see your getting out again Joe. I woulda met you guys,if I didn't have a job \:o \:o

NO FAIR - how can we compete with Joe G. (the King of free time)

Even with a bad back he fishes more than any of us.

Good job guys but - I think I'll go Striper fishing after the reports I've read lately.
