Engine will run till the starting fluid runs out then quits. Wont start without starting fluid. Haven't used the boat since covid started.
Old 50 horse evinrude e50tleds 1996. Was running great. Gas has marine storage added.

not to state the obvious, but sounds like a fuel supply issue... maybe try a new fuel line. They do clog (and rot).

Yup, not getting fuel.

Start with a new fuel line, not an aftermarket WalmartOne going get an actual Evinrude one. Next oh, it's time to look at the fuel lines that go into the engine in the fuel filter and then the fuel pump if you have one.

Also if you have a built in tank, check for a clogged vent line. If you haven't used the boat, maybe a spider nest in the vent. Try loosening the gas cap and see if it runs.

I've seen vents on portable tanks go bad as well.

As said, try fuel lines but more likely carb needs to be cleaned/rebuilt.

If it sat that long, ethanol ate everything.

Taking the advice from O'Bass. Wont buy after market. Cheap aint good and good aint cheap. A costly lesson learned too often.

I was burned twice by those Atwood Walmart fuel hoses. For 20$ more I got actual Yamaha hoses, and no headaches. I'm not good for much, but I learn from my mistakes VERY quickly.

Absolutely check the tank vent cap as capt Jay mentioned. Made that mistake too and such an easy fix.

New fuel lines, new filter, drained all old gas and put in fresh gas and seafoam marine pro. No start. I need a mechanic.

I normally don't reply to these threads anymore ; but give this a try before trowing in the towel. Follow the directions and be patient. When mechanics recommend it to their inner circle, there has to be something to it.

Bad valve(s) in the bulb or air locked (pull the fuel ine from the furthest carb) and pump fresh fuel. The mechanic in a can will do no good unless it can get to the carbs / injectors and sit to do its' magic. Before doing the above, make sure the fuel line is primed to the bulb and beyond.
