First skim ice on my small ponds a few days ago and this morning the main pond was skimmed over half of it. Skim ice on the Thanksgiving weekend means safe ice by Xmas -- old Farmer's Almanac forecast. Get your gear ready, don't be a season behind. Early ice is always the best ice.

I've still got my Vexilar,
And I bought a 10 gallon aerated bait bucket from a fellow on FB,
And I organized and tuned my tip-ups last year (after I was finally able to get out)
And I bought a quad to get me out on the ice...
So yeah, I have faith!!!

I've been known to shut down the entire Atlantic Seaboard just thinking about headed out for a day.

It's too early for ice.

December is the best time for blade baits on Quassy.

My Walls zero zone has been keeping me toastie for over 20 years. I'm surprised the zippers still get past the ever expanding belly. I'm going out Wednesday looking for ice, but my first trips every year are usually disappointing.
